2. Students join
They sign in with a school Google or Microsoft account and type the code. Up to 40 per class.
3. Assign and track
Pick a course, set a target speed, accuracy and due date. Watch progress fill in, then export it.

Questions teachers ask
- Is SureTyping free for teachers?
- Yes, for teachers and students. Sign in with your school email address and every course on SureTyping, all levels on every keyboard plus code typing and exam prep, is free for the students in your classes. Classes, assignments, the progress dashboard and the gradebook CSV are free too.
- What happens when a student leaves the class?
- Their progress is saved to their own account, so they keep it. Courses beyond the free beginner level lock again unless they have All-Access, which they can buy themselves.
- My school email isn't recognised. What now?
- We recognise most school domains (.edu, .k12, .ac, .sch and similar). If yours isn't, email [email protected] from your school address and we'll add your school.
- Do students see ads?
- No. Once a student joins a class, SureTyping shows them no ads, turns off friend requests and the store, and doesn't record their sessions.
- Do students need an email address?
- Students sign in with a Google or Microsoft school account, or an email and password, then type your class code at suretyping.com/join. Accounts without email are planned.
- Which keyboards can my class learn on?
- All 17 layouts SureTyping teaches, including QWERTY, Dvorak, Colemak and Workman. The lessons are the same on every keyboard, so one assignment works for a whole class.
- How do I grade typing?
- Give each assignment a target speed (WPM) and accuracy. The class page shows lessons done, average speed and accuracy, how many lessons met the targets, and who is overdue. Download it as a CSV for your gradebook.
- What data does SureTyping keep about students?
- The name a student gives your class, their sign-in account, and their typing results. Teachers see the name and lesson results only. See the student privacy page for details and deletion.
