About SureTyping
SureTyping is a typing practice platform built by Broctic Inc — designed to bring the best of training, progression, and competition together in one place for every kind of typist.

Who We Are
SureTyping is developed and maintained by Broctic Inc, a software company founded to build tools that make everyday digital skills more learnable, measurable, and worth practising. SureTyping was built primarily by Broctic's CEO and CTO, who wanted to create a typing platform they'd actually want to use themselves — one that goes beyond a basic speed test and gives people a real system for getting better.
The idea came from a simple observation: most typing tools either stop at giving you a WPM number or bury you in lessons with no sense of progress. Neither approach keeps people coming back. Broctic set out to fix that by combining structured training, adaptive practice, competitive play, and measurable improvement into a single platform — built for casual users and serious competitors alike.
The Team
Ian Rennie
CEO & Lead Developer
Ian co-founded Broctic Inc and leads the development of SureTyping. He designed the platform's lesson system, adaptive training engine, and real-time typing analytics. With years of experience building educational software, he focuses on making deliberate practice feel structured and rewarding. He splits his own typing time between Colemak-DH and Graphite.
Justin Duggan
CTO
Justin co-founded Broctic Inc and built SureTyping's real-time typing engine, multiplayer race system, and data pipeline. A longtime Dvorak user who switched from QWERTY during university, he brings first-hand layout-switching experience to the platform's design decisions and the keyboard layout guides he contributes to the blog.
Noah Willmott
Content Lead
Noah leads content strategy at SureTyping, writing keyboard layout comparisons, typing technique guides, and practice methodology articles. He has tested over a dozen alternative layouts on the platform and focuses on translating that hands-on experience into practical, evidence-based advice for typists at every level.
Our Mission
Typing is one of the most used skills in modern life, yet most people never deliberately practise it. They type every day and plateau at the same speed for years. SureTyping exists to change that — to make deliberate practice accessible, engaging, and worth coming back to for anyone who spends time at a keyboard.
We believe typing improvement should feel rewarding rather than tedious. That means real feedback, visible progress, and practice modes that respect how people actually learn — through repetition, challenge, and momentum. Whether you're a student learning to touch type for the first time or a developer trying to break 120 WPM on a new layout, SureTyping is built to meet you where you are.
What the Platform Offers
- Typing tests with real-time feedback. See your WPM, accuracy, and error patterns as you type — not just after.
- Structured lesson paths for 17 keyboard layouts. From QWERTY to Colemak, Dvorak, Workman, and beyond — each layout has its own full curriculum with progressive tracks and lessons.
- Adaptive AI training. The platform targets your weakest keys and patterns with personalised drills that adjust as you improve.
- Competitive games and leaderboards. Race against other typists in real time, or compete on the global leaderboard across game modes.
- Progression and rewards. Challenges, gems, store items, and unlockables give long-term goals that keep practice sessions feeling meaningful.
- Guides and resources. An editorial blog covering keyboard layout comparisons, switching guides, ergonomics, and practice advice — written to help you make informed decisions about how and what to practise.
Built for Everyone
SureTyping is designed to be the typing platform that anyone can appreciate — not just enthusiasts or speed-runners. Beginners get a clear entry point with zero assumed knowledge. Intermediate typists get structure and tools to keep improving past the plateau. Advanced users and competitors get the data, precision, and challenge modes that matter at higher skill levels.
