← SureTyping for schools
Student privacy
How SureTyping treats students who join a class. This adds to our general privacy policy.
What we keep
- The name the student enters when joining (we ask for a first name or nickname).
- The account they sign in with (Google, Microsoft, or email and password).
- Typing results: lessons finished, speed, accuracy, time spent, and per-letter accuracy used to suggest practice.
- Detailed test history is kept for up to 180 days; lesson results and personal bests are kept while the account exists.
What the teacher sees
The name the student gave the class and their results on the class's assignments: lessons done, speed, accuracy, whether they met the targets, and when they were last active. Teachers don't see the student's email address or anything they do outside assigned courses.
Student mode
While an account belongs to a class:
- No ads are shown, and the ad script isn't loaded.
- Sessions are not recorded for analytics.
- Friend requests are off, in both directions.
- We don't sell student data or use it for advertising.
Removing data
- Students can leave a class from their Classes page at any time.
- Teachers can remove a student, or delete a class with its roster and assignments.
- To delete a student's account and all their typing data, or for a school data request, email [email protected].
Schools and districts
If your school needs a data privacy agreement or has questions about younger students, email us before rolling SureTyping out and we'll work through it with you.
